Calendar/Handbook Information
The 2009-2010 SHS Calendar and Handbook ad form is now available for downloading (click here). This ad form in the past had been mailed out to all the SHS families; but now we are saving time and costs by having it on the website. This calendar is provided free of charge, and is a very important source of information for students, faculty and parents. Please remember to take out an ad for that special Senior student graduating in 2010, or just place an ad to advertise your business !! Additional copies will be available in the office. Calendar/Handbook – People who are willing to solicit ads, gather information, type, or help to produce the annual handbook are welcome to join this committee. Individuals with experience in graphic design are needed.
Teacher Appreciation – A “Welcome Back” brunch is held on opening day, light refreshments are served at monthly staff meetings, aswell as other gestures to over 200 teachers delivered via office mailboxesduring the year.
Basketball Game – This spring event enables friendly, Friday night competition between students and teachers. Classes compete and the winner takes on the faculty team. Help is needed with set-up, tickets, refreshments and cheering.
FOSH Scholarship – This prize is awarded to a senior(s) who has met academic criteria and in the opinion of the committee has made outstanding contributions to the SHS community. The committee meets in late spring to screen applications and interview candidates. Senior parents are not eligible for this committee.
Board of Education Meetings – On the 4th Tuesday of each month, the Board meets at 7:30 PM on the 5th fl oor, Government Center. There is an opportunity for the public to speak at the beginning of each meeting.
After-Prom Party – FOSH volunteers host a safe, all-night party at Davenport Ridge School for all seniors and their guests. It’s a great opportunity to be involved with other parents. Planning begins in the fall for this June event. For more information: CLICK HERE
Newsletter – FOSH attempts to mail a newsletter every 6 weeks. Help with graphics and mailing is always appreciated.
Email Reminders – Information about FOSH events and other SHS activities are also sent via email. Please provide your email address to FOSH at stamfordfosh@yahoo.com to be included in our list.
“I have a contact that might interest SHS” – Help SHS gain access to furniture, technology, books for the library, speakers for classes, or donations of goods or services for the auction, After-Prom, etc. We are limited to what we can do only by a lack of do-ers and givers.
Fashion Show – This Spring event features junior and senior couples
modeling prom and casual attire. Help is needed behind the scenes for this
great evening.
Parent Handbook - “Knightlife” is a guidebook that answers questions about SHS. It also provides diagrams of each floor at the school.
